Given how much it can shape our lives, it may seem odd to hear that at the core of what we do lies a belief that financial planning isn't primarily about money.
What we aim to deliver to our clients is more about finding the perfect balance between living life to the full today and being able to choose the way you want to live in the future, and combining smarter ways of managing money with the fruits of your labours to make it happen.
It’s also about choosing to see your financial affairs as a dynamic arrangement of different financial needs – be it debt management, investing, income management or simply working out how to make things happen – integrated and needing to be managed as a whole, rather than in isolation.
Ultimately though our business exists for one specific and clear purpose.
Our role in our clients lives is to help you work towards the day you can enjoy life without work with confidence and in a state of financial wellbeing.
Our reward is when clients experience the satisfaction of knowing where they’re headed, where they are now and what’s possible, replacing uncertainty about whether they can with complete confidence that they will.
We do this because we believe that happiness is our natural state of being, and it’s only when uncertainty arises we’re drawn out of it.
We are most personally satisfied when we can help people find their state of happiness and be the way they naturally should be.
That’s when money becomes a tool you control for living, and not the other way around.
our journey
In the late 80’s Philip Enger had a vision for a financial advice business that was centred around providing holistic strategic advice to clients. This was at a time when the big banks and insurance companies were largely just selling products to their clients.
This vision was created with the founding of Dollar Growth Centre in 1989.
Creating an advice business that was about identifying client’s individual needs and then working towards them with a tailored plan and ongoing advice was the aim of the practice.
Philip decided that his clients would be better served knowing exactly what they are paying and decided to charge fees directly to his clients for the advice he was providing.
- Our objective is to get to know and understand client lifestyle needs, and their long-term aspirations. Our ‘Advice for Life’ approach to financial advice reflects the importance we place on personal relationships, as life needs of clients change over time.
- Whilst ranking these needs and aspirations, if we feel that they are difficult to achieve or simply unrealistic then we will discuss this and not just cross our fingers and hope that things work out.
- Our advice solutions need to add value over our client’s current circumstances.
- Complexity is often one of the reasons clients come to us. It is imperative that our clients understand the advice we recommend and how it will improve their situation.
- We always use realistic long-term financial projections. We won’t overcook numbers based on factors such as recency bias.
- Recognising that no one adviser can specialise in every aspect of financial advice, we have access to professionals that assist us in ensuring appropriate solutions are formulated.
Our financial planning process is centered around adapting to our client’s evolution. In a world that has markedly changed since the business started, we are now in the next evolutionary phase of Dollar Growth.
Both Handan Dikici and Simon Enger have had a long tenure with Dollar Growth and they will continue to drive the same founding principles augmented by Philip Enger into the years ahead.
We are concerned on the environmental impact from the regulatory paperwork that is created from the plethora of materials that need to be provided. We are committed to reducing this by adopting more electronic standards and accessible technology practices that our clients can work with.
Our focus is assisting clients with managing both the lead up and execution of a successful retirement. We have a strong track record in this area and is our primary advice focus.

The patriarch of Dollar Growth, Philip’s vision for a strategy-focused, fee-based practice in the 80’s was at odds with the majority of commission-driven practices. Philip’s combination of deep technical knowledge and a genuine care for clients has produced the evolution of Dollar Growth today.
Commencing in the Banking industry in the 70’s Philip has held various high level national and management roles with large institutions such as Westpac. He has sat on various boards within the industry and companies. His real-world experience and vast technical knowledge see him highly regarded within the Financial Planning Industry and a great mentor.
As Executive Chairman, Philip remains a key part of the team, ensuring his insights and knowledge can be drawn on by the team.
Away from Dollar Growth Philip loves AFL and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter.

Sandra has worked in the Accounting profession since her early years so has great technical knowledge in both Tax and Financial Planning.
Sandra was the first to join with Philip in 1993 and continues to work across both the Dollar Growth Financial Planning and Accounting Businesses in a multi-faceted role. Sandra enjoys the varied facets of her role and always loves to chat to clients.
Outside of Dollar Growth Sandra is kept busy being a Grandparent and in her spare time you’ll see her gardening and sewing.
Sandra provides the much-needed support to ensure everything runs smoothly. She takes great pride in her work and the care that she gives to every client in the Dollar Growth Family.
